Means of access Chez Raz is located near the town of Velletri on the southern border of the Castelli Romani hills, and just about 45 km from Rome.
Velletri can be reached by train from Rome's central rail station on the FM4 line. Trains run regularly during the day from early morning till 21:30 hours in the evening.
The closest airport is Ciampino (Easyjet and Ryanair arrive there). A public bus service runs between the airport and Ciampino rail station, or airport pickup can normally be arranged if requested in advance (40 Euros from Ciampino, 70 Euros from Fiumicino).
By road we are easily reached from Rome or the main Florence/Rome/Naples motorway (A1/E45), exiting at Valmontone.
Hints and Tips ROME: Rome can be reached by train in 55 minutes. Chez Raz provide a pick-up service to and from the local station at the rate of 5 Euros per ride.
HILLS, TRECKING & HILLTOP TOWNS: Chez Raz is very close to Monte Artimisio and the Lepini hills, which are ideal for trecking. Characteristic hilltop towns such as Cori and Sermoneta, are also within close range.
BEACHES: Some of the best beaches on the Lazio coastline can be reached within 30 minutes from Chez Raz. Popular beaches are Sabaudia, Nettuno and Tor San Lorenzo near Anzio.
CASTELLI LAKES, TOWNS & VINEYARDS: Chez Raz is just 20 minutes from the lake and the Pope`s summer retreat at Castel Gandolfo and other characteristic Castelli towns such as Castel Gandolfo, Frascati and Marino. The area is rich with restaurants serving fine foods and local wines.
Chez Raz is also a good base for sightseeing some other famous landmarks in the area surrounding Rome. A popular visit is Villa d’Este in Tivoli where you can lose yourself on miles of shady paths, among 500 scattered fountains and scenery that inspired composer Franz Liszt and writer Henry James. In the same area can be found the very well preserved remains of Hadrian's villa.
WORLD WAR II INTEREST: The World War II British and American cemeteries and museums at Anzio and Nettuno are just 30 minutes drive from Chez Raz and Montecassino can be reached in one hour.
