" The manor house “Solar”(1.200m) was originally constructed in the 15th century has a dominant defence tower, a courtyard with a fountain and a totally majestic arch in Portuguese baroque style. Built on 2 floors, an impressive entrance hall and stone stairway leads to an old library corridor on the top floor. Living quarters on first floor. On the west wing all of its eight bedrooms are decorated with antique beds and rustic furnishings. The master bedroom has a cosy living room with TV and a wood burning stove. On the east wing are the social areas, includes: dining room and pantry, living room with a fireplace, a large billiard room. Ground floor consists of: kitchen,laundry room,winery and the chapel. Breakfast is served daily in the dining room between 9am and 10am Meals may be arranged within a 24hr reservation. Max. 2 meals per week (except Sundays) The swimming pool and terraces are in a hidden and discreet place within an enclosed garden. "

" The estate is located in the valley of the River Távora which goes through for about 4km, flowing under a Roman Bridge and through natural lakes. It is a privileged place for quietness surrounded on all sides by nature and countryside. There are several km of forest paths, pine woods and cypresses forest. The farm cultivates apple trees, produces potatoes and raises cattle. The orchard bursts into life in the spring and on the last two weeks of September is ready for picking and everybody may join in. Experience the extraordinary and breathtaking landscapes of Beira Alta Region, beautiful mountains, tranquil rivers, gorgeous meadows and pine wood forests. Also cycling or take a drive in a 4x4 or simply relax and enjoy the exclusivity of this place. Within easy access from the estate you can discover some of Portugal Historical Villages, perched high on hilltops, played a crucial role in protecting the surrounding lands. Built from granite and schist and located in the heart of the country, they have witnessed over 900 years of Portuguese history. A short distance drive is the dam of Barragem de Vilar built in River Tavora, with its estuaries that extend to over more than 9km with great conditions for practicing water sports and the best place to observe waterfowl in the region. Also nearby in a village called Terrenho (15min east), a smaller dam on the river Teja, is an amazing place for fishing, picnics and practice manual water sports. In the region the Natural Reserve Park Serra da Estrela and the Parque Arqueológico do Vale do Côa with Palaeolithic art. "
