" Ilha de Tavira is approx 5 min drive from the property (by car or counsel trolley-train), 12km of white sand beach, an island, part of the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, reached by boat or miniature train or by foot, accessed from different points on the mainland. Tavira has an excellent array of shops, bars and restaurants, and a fresh daily market for vegetables, fruit and fish. Public gardens, historic churches, a Roman bridge, medieval castle, a river leading through the salt pans into the Atlantic. On the 5th of June of 2009 opened the new shopping mall of Tavira with shops, supermarket, restaurants and cinemas. Perfect climate for all outdoor sports, (kite)surf and all other aquatic sports, horse riding, golf. Within a 10 min drive famous golf courses: Benamor, Quinta da Ria-Quinta de Cima, Castro Marim, Quinta do Vale, Monte Rei. Play a great game of golf, drive home in 10min, shower and have a fantastic night in Tavira, all in walking distance. "
