The apartment is right in the centre of Santa Marinella. The beach, boarded by the splendid and characteristic promenade (Passeggiata a mare) is just across the street. The train station is behind the apartment building. A train passes every half hour taking you to Saint Peter’s Basilica or the Ostiense Station in 45 minutes. The most important sites in Rome can be reached in only a few minutes by taking the underground at the Ostiense Station. The BIRG Daily Transportation Ticket, which includes the return ticket and travel on all public transportation in Rome, costs 7.00 EURO and is very convenient. The apartment is absolutely noise- free. The use of the condominium terrace(photo 2) is included and a spectacular view can be enjoyed : the sea from Civitavecchia to Ladispoli. Santa Marinella, also called “Perla del Tirreno” (Pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea) has a mild climate all year round because it is enclosed by the overlooking Tolfa mountains. This allowes it to become a vacation spot also during the winter. The town is always alive and it has become a pleasant alternative to living in Rome. It is also a valid option for vacationers wanting to spend their holidays in Rome because it unites the pleasure of a splendid sea town with the opportunity of visiting the Eternal City. Santa Marinella is also in the heart of the territory once inhabited by the ancient Etruscans so visitors can see numerous Etruscan and Roman archeological sites. Don’t miss the necropolises in Tarquinia and Cerveteri, UNESCO World Heritage sites, the Odescalchi Castle in Santa Marinella (which unfortunately cannot be visited inside), the Santa Severa Castle and the important port of Civitavecchia, founded by the EmperorTrajan. Brochures and pamphlets on the interesting sites to visit can be found inside the apartment.
