" Villa "IL Cantuccio" is an enchanting farm house situated amongst the green hills of Val di Sieve.
Constructed in the 14th century as a military fort, it dominates the whole of the surrounding valley, where olive groves and vineyards, typical of the area,abound.The historical authenticity of this complex is mainly underlined by the presence, next to the villa, of a small, delightful church datin back to the year 1000, and a cloistered convent, also from the medieval period, in the nearby village of Rosano.
Guests have at their disposal, within a beautiful garden, a swimming pool (8x14 metres) with deckchairs, sun-beds and a changing room with bathroom and shower.From the summerhouse one can enjoy the panoramic view of the valley below and eat dishes prepared on the barbecue.The location offers the possibility to stay in peaceful Tuscany countryside while at the same time allowing for a quick and easy visit to the centre of Florence (15km away) or the chianti region.Pontassieve is the closest town(3km away), which is equipped with all kind of shops and services including a station, from where one can reach the main tourist and historic destinations throughout Tuscany.
For lovers of nature and typical Tuscany products it is also possible to take long walks in tha splendid forest which surround the villa, or visit wine cellars of the Chianti Rufina area.
Private dinners, consisting of typical Tuscan cuisine, can be organised by request. "

Means of access By car:take the A1 motorway at FIRENZE SUD.Then take the exit at PONTASSIEVE, at the end of the road turn left at PONTASSIEVE;continue for around 10 km on the main road beofre turning right in the direction of ROSANO just before the bridge over the river Arno.After around 100 metres turn right into a small road signposted SAN PRUGNANO or I LECCI (the road is next to the Vivaio di Rosano and Il Melo restaurant);continue on this road until the top of the hill where there is a clearing with a tabernacle of Virgin Mary;to the left there is a road with a small church,and the next villa is villa "IlCantuccio" (Via di San Prugnano 10/11)
By plane (from Florence or Bologna airport):take the A1 motorway direction ROMA until the exit FIRENZE SUD, then follow the instruction "by car".
By plane (from Pisa airport):take the superstrada Fi-Pi-Li (Firenze-Pisa-Livorno) until the exit SCANDICCI, take the A1 motorway direction south until FIRENZE SUD, then follow the previous instructions.
