" Casa Vallecillo has all modern conveniences and the décor is warm and cheerful, with many personal touches making guests feel at home. There is no TV in the house but there is a music system and shelves full of books and guides (in Spanish, French, Dutch and English). The swimming pool (8 by 4 metres) is surrounded by a child-proof fence. There is a pleasant lawn with sun beds and a bigger space for playing or barbecuing. Directly from home there is a lot of good walking along unpaved roads or further off the beaten track. The owners, Francisco and Lies, live just 100 metres away, but privacy is guaranteed. Francisco is a native of Ronda and knows the countryside and the Serrania very well. Lies came from Holland in 1995, and together they have a son. The family try to live as self-sufficiently as possible. Francisco is an organic farmer and close to the house they cultivate their vegetables, while Lies sells their produce on local markets. "

Inhabited since prehistoric times (early paintings are found in the nearby Pileta Cave), Ronda has always been an important centre and is one of Andalusia´s most-visited cities. Nearer home (a pleasant 15 minutes walk) is Arriate, a friendly and lively village, famous for it excellent tapas. "
