" Very peaceful, spacious retreat. The house is very quiet and private. Upstairs are two spacious rooms. The west side has a painting studio/atelier, the east side a writing desk and reading area. Each is inviting, by their placement and light, to a process of surrender, whether it is actively engaging you in your creative process or passively engaging you to read and/or just listen to the birds or music. There is a balcony/terrace on each side. The house is situated in a valley on the Plateau de Valensole, known for its lavender cultivation. The 800 km² area has an average altitude of 500 meters and views the surrounding mountains in 360 radius. The house is situated at the foot of the Alpes between St Jurs and Puimoisson, a five to ten minute drive, in opposite direction from the house. These two villages are small but have some of what you may need: square with church, pétanques (jeux de boules), café, restaurant and bar, with jazz and cinema evenings. See the personal website of the owner" Besides wonderful local restaurants and markets, there are several "haute cuisine" restaurants in the area, located in truly picturesque settings. Puimoisson in addition has a unisex haircutter, a very good butcher, bakery/grocery store and a post office. Riez, at 20 minutes has a hospital, supermarket, internet cafe and open market with local products on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Most villages around will have local product markets on different days. There are several ways to get to the lake. Puimoisson/Moustier takes you to the east shore of the lake and takes about 20 minutes. Riez/Ste Croix takes you to the west shore of the lake takes about 40 minutes "

"Maison de charme pour les amoureux de la nature et du calme ! Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour, la maison est grande et agréable à vivre, grande terrasse avec une magnifique glycine (même si un peu plus de propreté aurait été agréable, quoique cela participe au charme de la maison de vacances !). Propriétaire américaine mais très disponible, nous avons été très bien accueillis par un couple d''amis de la propriétaire."
