" Terrazza dei Gabbiani: only with the stairs Buongiorno, I am Roberto Carpano the owner of the” Terrazza” and I would like to welcome you in Tuscany, Porto Santo Stefano. Let’s start from the name. Heartbreaking view on the gulf of Talamone in Argentario. 60 m2 +30 m2 of terrace, located 100 m. from the sea and 200 from the tourist harbor and the ferry boat leaving for Giannutri, Giglio and Isola d'Elba. At the same time, thanks to the wonderful step where it is located, it is quite and surrounded by nature. It's just like you were in a boat: from the rooms or from the terrace, in the mording you can see the sunrise on the sea in front of you, at sunset, after a day of sun and swimming, you can admire the view of fishing boats entering in the harbor followed by hundreds of seagulls: a real dream. Nicely furnished with italian taste, blue and white colors. WHY “Terrazza dei Gabbiani: only with the stairs” ? Because you can reach it ONLY with old stairs: Ninety steps from the road and eighty to reach the sea. I do consider this an advantage since you gain and benefit from silence and calm. Hints and tips from the owner:

" 15 August Big Event "The Argentario Marina Palio" of the PortoSantoStefanoTown. The surrounding Etruscan area is full of beautiful little town like Tarquinia, Tuscania, Pitigliano, Sorano and Sovana. Capalbio at only 29 km with many restaurants specialized in the old country side cuisine of Maremma. Saturnia termal bath are also a must if you are in the area. We also recomend a visit to the internal highlands (25 km)in Scansano to buy the famous Morellino wine. Porto Santo Stefano is not indicated in any Lonely Planet guide and to a limited extent, in other guides. In my opinion, this is a positive step forward. This is the reason why I have written few lines for my guests of the Terrazza dei gabbiani. I will be happy if you will enjoy things I like, I generally used to do when I was there. Walk to the old light-house This is an easy walk in the shadow good also for children (45’ minutes back and for). Get off the steps down to the road close to the see and when you have reached it turn left and carry on until the road ends. Then the road becomes a small track and goes up following the cost. Follow the track. On your right side you have Talamone and the Tuscany cost far. The track is small and pleasant and almost desert. At the end of the track you will find a small cemented road going down. Follow it and will reach the old light-house. The view is great with l’isola del Giglio in front of you and in windy days you may see up to Isola di Montecristo. During my walk I usually met Pippo, an old fisherman sleeping on the track under the shadow. A nice old time memory o "
