Converted house with a perfect mix of comfort and style, while still keeping many of the old features and fixtures. Totally equipped with everything you need for your stay as well as extensive cooking. Owners where absolutely delightful and went way out of their way to accommodate our needs and special request. Private fruit and vegetable garden will provide for lots of your needs [depending on season, of course]. Excellent location allows for the exploration of Marvao region, national park and local attractions. Lots of day hikes around allowing for a couple of hours exploration as well as long days in the mountains. We are "regulars" to vacations in Portugal and find this region to be one of the very best for an "off the beaten track" vacations. The pool is on the small side and you share it with a good number of frogs and toads [delightful for the kids as well as for adults] - we found it to be great but one should know and be ready. House and its extensive grounds are totally quiet and you find yourself immersed in nature. A village 5 minutes drive from the house has a playa fluvial [a river bed converted to a beach with ll services] and it is a great way to end a hot summer day. We highly recommend the region, location and the property - thanks so much for having us as your first guests.
