" If you are looking for a quiet get away in an idyllic location, come to Casa de Sueños, set deep in the Spanish countryside surrounded by wildlife next to a river with stunning waterfalls and pools that are great for swimming. Casa de Sueños is a completely renovated cortijo (country house) with all modern facilities and spectacular views. The cortijo is furnished to a high standard, has traditional small windows with shutters, white washed walls and rustic slate and wood ceilings all the rooms, with plenty of outside space. Surrounding by countryside it is a nature lover’s rural paradise, complete with a herd of goats with bells which live on the mountain opposite. Straight outside the property there is open countryside to explore! Walk by the river, climb a mountain for a view or wander through the olive groves. Tastefully furnished the house has two double bedrooms, a dressing/storage room, three bathrooms, lounge and separate well equipped modern kitchen with microwave, induction hob, oven and fridge freezer. Each bedroom has lovely views and its own bathroom, with shower and heated mirror. Baby cot available free of charge; please request it when booking. Outside there are terraces with stunning views, a covered seated and dining area with a brick built Paella BBQ, and a fantastic 7 person heated spa tub. Included in the rental is bedding,linen, towels, and final cleaning. If you would like a welcome pack of groceries,, please ask at the time of booking. For holidays of two weeks or longer we offer a discount and a fresh linen service each week. "

See the personal website of the owner" You will need a car to get to the property. Cycle hire can be arranged locally, and there is a house riding centre about 6 kms away. Picturesque Montefrio offers a perfect blend of historical buildings and working Spanish town. With over 40 bars offering local tapas, peaceful squares and winding streets to discover there is something for everyone. In Montefrio many places close for siesta in the afternoon, including shops and supermarkets, and re-open in the early evening. Use this time to catch a nap, or try out the bar cafe which stay open. The surrounding countryside with its olive groves, mountain views and tiny villages are waiting to be discovered. Close to the house is a ravine that makes an interesting walk, or follow the river to the old mill, or take one of the many tracks. In season pick wild pomegranates, figs, almonds, walnuts and asparagus. Casa de Sueños is situated near the beautiful Moorish town of Montefrio with its classical hill top church overlooking the picturesque town with its street cafes and bars. Nearby Granada has all the history of the Moors, with the Alhambra and Moroccan market, modern shops and shady terraces. "Had a great time at casa de Suenos. The location was breathtaking and we had such great fun in the river. The house was lovely and we slept well in a very comfortable bed. Montefrio was a town full of charactor and we enjoyed some chilled times in the many bars there."

It is lovely house located in a peaceful valley - all you hear is the sound of birds and the waterfalls which are 100m away. It is perfect to relax, to go hiking and for little trips to Granada, Cordoba etc. From the terrace you have a wonderful view down the valley, with good weather you can see far apart mountains. The entire house and the terrace are furnished with tasteful style which makes you feel comfortable. Remember that you are around 800m high, temperatures in beginning of April were a bit chilly in the evening, but a bath in the jacuzzi and a fire in the chimney easily makes you forget this. Everything was clean and nicely prepared. The reception was very kind!

"Très agréable maison accessible après une bonne dizaine de minutes d''une piste éprouvante pour les véhicules ayant une faible garde au sol mais les propriétaires de 4x4 se feront plaisir. La maison est très bien équipée même s''il manque le sèche-cheveux annoncé ( au grand désespoir de ma fille) et une cafetière que nous avons apporté.La télévision ne capte qu''une seule chaine et en anglais. Le reste de l''équipement est parfait. Le calme est garanti et les nuits sont fraîches même en juillet. L''accueil est sympathique et confiant. La terrasse est très bien agencée et on ne se lasse pas du jacuzzi. Pour ce qui est de la vue : des oliviers à perte de vue et le village de Tocon dans le lointain. Pour atteindre Montefrio, il faut un bon quart d''heure en voiture. Pour visiter Grenade, il faut prévoir une bonne heure de route et plus de 2 h pour Cordoba mais cela vaut vraiment le déplacement. Montefrio est une petite ville très typique et mérite de s''y attarder un peu pour visiter le castillo et l''église cylindrique. En conclusion: un séjour dépaysant et réussi."

"Chemin d'accès très difficile, chemin de terre abrupte et chaotique à travers les champs d'oliviers. Cependant, on arrive dans un petit coin de paradis avec la vue sur la Sierra Nevada et les oliviers."

"Thank you for taking the time to write a review and describe Casa de Sueños "a little slice of paradise in the olive groves with views of the Sierras". I am sorry your found the track difficult; it is described as a dirt track and this is standard access in "campo" rural Spain. We have travelled the track very many times to and from the house with a normal car; the track is part of the adventure of discovery of this "little slice of paradise" in a hidden valley."
