Nature is not just a setting, but the very essence of this land with its dense stands of pine trees, woods and countryside rich with colours and scents. Of particular note are the Bolgheri WWF Oasis, a wet zone of international importance, the Magona Park and its biogenetic oasis, the Livorno Hills Park, which is of considerable historical-naturalistic interest, the Rimigliano Park flora and fauna oasis, the Orti-Bottagone oasis and the Sterpaia and Montioni parks.A temperate climate throughout the year, with particularly mild springs, long summers and infrequent rainfall during autumn/winter,makes for enjoyable holidays all year round.Etruscan settlements by the sea, like the Baratti-Populonia Archaeological Park, museums full of Etruscan, Roman and Villanovan artefacts, such as those at Rosignano Marittimo, Cecina and Piombino, exhibitions and shows of international significance on the history of these places all bear witness to the historical importance of the Costa degli Etruschi. Fly to Pisa - Villa Lydia is just 70 km from the airport. Cheap flights available from Easyjet.co.uk from Birmingham to Pisa airport. The train from Pisa to Castagneto Carducci every half hour.If you want we will give you all the schedules of the trains from pisa to Castagneto Carducci The advertiser's agent will bring you with the car to the villa distance from the villa to the rail station (5 minutes by car) You can visit the famouse cities of art which are close enough for half day excursions. Firenze, Pisa, Volterra, San Gimignano, Siena, Massa Marittima, Perugia, Assisi. Elba, 45 km distant is easily reached by car (and ferry from Piombino). Thanks to a network of well maintained country roads there are many possibilities for cycling and mountain biking. The area offers superb beaches for sunbathing and clear, clean sea for swimming, sailing, windsurfing and scuba diving. There are scuba diving schools at Baratti and San Vincenzo.
