Means of access Bairro Alto is generally closed to car traffic, but taxis are allowed in at all hours. So, on the first and last day, if you're traveling by plane, train, or boat, calling a taxi is probably the best way to go. On the other days, you'll find 2 subway entrances and several bus and tram stops in a 500 meter radius. Of course, taxis are always easy to find.
If you're traveling by car or planning on renting, know that it's almost impossible to find a free parking space in Lisbon and that even paying spots are scarce; underground parking is the best alternative for a hassle free stay.
