" Villa Mannarastrippi is the holiday retreat of a roman nobleman and his German wife that wanted to create something very special: a villa almost invisible from outside and with the highest standard of comfort. The villa is at the center of the Linosa Natural Reserve, a beautiful volcanic island of the Pelagian archipelago (since 50.000 years the volcanoes are definitely extinct) that enjoys an intact environment. In the Reserve, that protects two thirds of the island, building is not allowed..The only visible building from the villa is the Linosa lighthouse. Being keen on botany the owners created a spectacular 3.000 m2 tropical garden. Comfortable, exclusive, elegant without flaunting, Villa Mannarastrippi is one of the most beautiful Mediterranean villas. "

" There is no public transport on the Island. Renting a car is therefore advisable. The owners put at the guest's disposal their Toyota Corolla S.W. at the daily price of €25. Linosa allows you to make some interesting and rather unique experiences. The island is the breeding ground of the largest flock in the Mediterranean Sea of the Great Shearwater. Every day, at sunset, this multitude of birds (10.000 couples!) land into the sea near the western coast of Linosa and wait until darkness. They visit their nests in small burrows only at night to avoid predation of the eggs by large gulls. You may closely watch this spectacular landing from a boat. In Linosa there is a Center for the Recovery of the Sea Turtles, a protected genus that are often wounded by the propellers of fishing boats or have swallowed the big tuna hooks. A team of voluntary veterinaries operates and cures the turtles. You are allowed to visit the Center and watch the animals in the basins where they recover strength and are put in condition to be released into the sea. Villa Mannarastrippi is at walking distance from two of the major seaside attractions of Linosa. The “Natural Pool”, a limb of incredibly transparent sea water imprisoned amongst the black lava rocks: the connection to the sea via an underwater tunnel creates a pleasant Jacuzzi effect and the “Count’s Cove” a small inlet where the protection of a screen of rocks makes the water always calm. "

Means of access :
The island of Linosa has been spared by the mass tourism (there are only two small hotels and no airport) but its accessibility is not so bad if you travel on your own account. You may fly to the nearby island of Lampedusa and then board the twice a day hydrofoil that takes you to Linosa in one hour. Lampedusa in high season is connected directly to Rome and Milan and via its hub (Palermo Airport) to New York and many of the most important European destinations. If you happen to be already on vacation in Sicily you can reach Linosa from the port of Agrigento by hydrofoil in three hours or by the ferry boat that leaves at midnight and gets to the island early next morning. "E'' la casa dei miei sogni...Io e il mio fidanzato Francesco abbiamo passato 10 giorni indimenticabili. E poi Angela e Franco(nonché Cristiana che ci ha accolto e coccolato a Linosa, isola speciale)sono delle persone stupende. Torneremo sicuramente e molto presto.
