Chalet - Le Sépey

"We didn't have the chance to meet the owners but they fully ensured a very pleasant stay by advising on local shops to hire ski equipment, informing the best places to shop groceries and fresh bread and supplying all the necessary information for us to feel at home. There is a ski facility in Leysin at 3 minutes drive from the house but this was already end of season and only one lane was available with gun spread snow. But a 10 minutes drive takes you to the fantastic winter facility of Glacier 3000. Chalet le Sépey is a very cosy and nice holiday house in the small Village of Le Sépey very close to Leysin. The house fully gathers all the necessary commodities and appliances for the full occupancy. Several stoves, two fridges, two water sinks, a big family table, two toasters, several frying pans, a lot of cutlery, dish washer, etc. One of the toilets is communal - 3 showers, 3 WC's, 4 lavatories. This could be a privacy issue for non family groups. There was plenty of hot water with high water pressure and everybody could take their hot shower after skiing. The central heating kept the house cosy and warm all the time despite the negative temperatures outside. The big meals and living room has very comfortable leather sofas for everyone, which allows fantastic family evenings. The house keeper supplied all requested towels and bed linen. The accoustic isolation is very good to the outside. Inside the house the upper wooden floor squeaks a lot when you walk. The house was for sale and a bit miss-cared in the lower floor which is used as warehouse for tools, laundry washer, central heating, electrical switch board, vacuum cleaners, etc. The house location surroundings are not very nice. Chalet le Sépey is dipped in a low valley with a timber facility as neighbour which is not the best view. However you're just a 3 minutes drive away from breathtaking Swiss landscape when driving to Leysin. The internet had some problems that the owner ensured were accidental and were to be fixed after our stay. If you come from a foreign country be sure to take mains adaptors for your computer, mobile and camera chargers, electric razors, hair dryers, etc. Although Switzerland has a 240 Volt electrical network, their plugs are not compatible to normal DIN plugs as in Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, etc. In the overall this is a highly recommendable winter holiday house for a big family wishing to tour around and practice winter sports."

"We had a great time in the chalet at Le Sepey. There were 13 of us including five children under 7 and one of 10 years. The chalet was very spacious and easily accommodated all of us. It was great to sit in the spacious kitchen in the evenings and sit round the large table having our evening meal. It was possible to take walks by the nearby river which the children enjoyed. The owner was very helpful and advised of us of worthwhile places to visit and was on hand to answer questions. We particularly enjoyed visiting the ski resort of Les Diablerrets which was close by. The aprtment had everything we needed for a week-long stay with young children."
