" There exist in the island not only restaurants of different nationalities but also a wide selection of places where the visitor can enjoy the wonderful specialities of the aera.
The fact that this is mainly a fishing and cattle-rasing town, it is obvious that the most important ingredient is fish, cooked in every form such as in stocks, in salt,cooked in a "sancocho",etc. all of wich is accompagnied by "papas arugadas con mojo"(boiled baby patatoes whith a special red piquant sauce) the spicy Canarian sauces made of oil, vinegar,salt, and most of all, garlic.
