To the rear, the fertile valleys and olive groves of the Pilia peninsula, dotted with hillside villages. The apartments are well-equipped and spacious and the huge balcony gives a further feeling of space and provides sun/shade at different times of the day. The Tria Asteria Taverna serves excellent traditional home-cooked Greek food as well as grilled fish and meats, salads and starters, so you don't need to travel far in the evening. "

See the personal website of the owner" Take the local bus, which stops at the Tria Asteria, to the pretty small town of Koroni (20 minutes) and explore the castle, convent, shops, beaches and harbour cafes & tavernas. In the other direction the bus will take you to the city of Kalamata, where there is a fabulous twice-weekly produce market, a couple of good museums, good shopping and a super-long beach backed by lively cafes. Explore the dirt-tracks and small roads near the apartments. The villages of Falanthi, Homatero and Kombi can all be reached on foot - and many more traditional villages can be explored by car. On Sunday mornings visit the farmers market in the village of Harakopio - a 5 minute drive or bus ride away. "
