WWF, the world’s largest and most known conservation organization, selected this area among the 10 last paradises of the Mediterranean and named it as the “Turquoise Corridor” by the color and transparency of its sea.
Hundreds of tiny islets, bays, natural harbors and caves are only waiting to be explored by the sea while impervious green mountains are shading skies from clouds from the inside. The most endangered seal in the world, the “monk seal” can still be spotted along this coast, together with 2 species of sea turtles, nesting in summer on its wild beaches.
Within a range of a few kilometers you can visit unique and well preserved archaeological sites ranging from the famous sunken towns of Simena and Kekova to the majesty of the Licyan/Roman theatres of Myra, Antiphellos, Xanthos, Patara, and the sanctity of the S.
