Lake Idro is the ideal place for lovers of quiet living, sport in contact with nature and ancient traditions. Families and couples looking for peace are a significant tourist demand of Lake Idro. Lake Idro, 12 km long and 2 wide, is located 368 m above sea level and is surrounded by high wooded mountains around 1000 to 1400 m at the foot of which there are small picturesque villages very comfortable. The hotels are family run and are very popular for good food rich in local dishes. All campsites and holiday villages with houses overlooking the lake and are well structured with modern facilities and comfortable. The air temperature from May to September is 20-30 degrees and the lake is for swimming from June to September with water temperatures above 20 degrees.
