The cottage in in a rural/coastal location overlooking Bertraghboy Bay, the Twelve Bens mountain range, and Roundstone hill and village. The cottage is located in a Gaeltacht area (Irish speaking area- don't worry, everyone speaks English as well.) The cottage is ideally situated for activities such as walking, sailing, birdwatching, fishing, golfing, and painting to name but a few.
The cottage is modern and is fully insulated with double glazed windows. It is very comfortable - The sitting room and kitchenette are very bright. Two large sofas face a beautiful raised fireplace.
Sleeps up to six with three bedrooms (one ensuite), each with a double bed.

Kitchenette fully equipped including: washing machine, cooker, microwave, fridge, plates, cutlery, and cooking equipment.
Mains water supply is currently being installed throughout the area. At the moment water for washing comes from a lake and it is advisable to use bottled water for drinking, which can be purchased in supermarkets and shops nearby.

Means of access Located in some of the most unspoilt natural beauty in the West of Ireland, Glynsk Pier Cottage is situated approximately three miles from Carna Village and around half an hours drive from Roundstone and Clifden. Galway city is approximately one hours drive away. If you want to go to the Aran Islands, they can be reached by ferry (Rossaveal) or plane - about three quarters of an hours drive on the coastal route from Carna to Galway City.
Nearest airports are Knock and Galway an hour and a quarter drive to Glynsk. If driving from Shannon airport, allow two hours, Dublin or Belfast airports approximately 5 hours.
From the Galway - Clifden road (N59), head south from Recess towards Cashel and Carna on the R340. Once you reach the Glynsk House Bar, Restaurant, and Craft Shop, turn right and Glynsk Pier Cottage is approximately one mile down this road on your left.
Glynsk Pier Cottage is 1 - 2 kilometres from Curlews Cottage and Letterard - apartment flat. The property is located on the coast and has stunning sea and mountain views.
Hints and Tips World famous Cashel house and Zetland hotels approximately four miles away - superb cuisine. Ballynahinch Hotel is about six - seven miles away. Clifden and Roundstone nearby - good pubs and music (all pubs non-smoking).
Restaurants and Arts festivals - google Roundstone and Clifden arts festivals.
Also the (developing) legendary "Tour de Bog" - a kind of cycle race around Connemara that anyone can enter. Bicycles can be hired in Clifden.
Galway Hooker (traditional working boats) regattas are held around Connemara throughout the summer.
The cottage contains maps and walking routes. There are many stunning sandy beaches nearby - nearest is three kilometres away (Moyrus) all the beaches can be identified on detailed walking maps. Dogs Bay Beach outside Roundstone is an absolutely gorgeous coral beach. O'Dowds Pub (Roundstone) and E.J. Kings in Clifden are worth a visit.
