Best points about the property:
" Renovation on Giardino Segreto was completed in the spring of 2009 and was done using traditional methods and materials. While the exterior was restored to the original style, the interior space has been designed to accommodate contemporary lifestyles with modern appliances and updated lighting, fixtures and décor. "
" Fantastic restaurants and cafes can be found all over Puglia. Below are just a few tips, but it’s hard to go wrong by exploring the region. Some favorites in the area include the following:
La Tana Del Lupo (Galatina) - This tiny restaurant is just a 1 minute walk from the front door of the house. It only has about 4 tables and feels as if you are dining in the home of the owner. There really isn’t a menu. Instead, Francesco will just start bringing you food and wine the moment you sit down.
La Maruzzella (near Santa Maria al Bagno) – This
seaside spot is a must for lunch. You may have to wait a while before the busy staff notice you standing on the steps, but it’s well worth the wait. The spaghetti vongole is perfect in its simplicity and the nameless white wine is unfussy served in plastic cups.
Le Zie (Lecce) – Located just outside the historic
centre near the Santa Croce basilica, this restaurant was once the chef-owner’s home. She converted it into a simple dining room serving traditional Pugliese meals. It’s been written up in several international travel magazines. Some people are so protective of it that they refuse to reveal the location. It’s a must for either lunch or dinner. "
