" The “Old Barn” house is situated atop a scenic hill in the Tipertoli homestead in San Martino Altoreggi at about 350 meters above sea level. With its spectacular panoramic views as far as the eye can see, the “Old Barn” acts as a natural terrace overlooking the upper Arno valley. You can see the slopes of the Chianti mountains to the southwest; the city of Arezzo to the southeast (on a clear day); the Pratomagno mountains to the east (which separate the Valdarno valley from the Casentino valley); and the slopes of the Tosco-Emiliano Apennine mountain chain to the north. The Tipertoli homestead is surrounded by olive trees, cypress tress, as well as oak and chestnut tree forests. It is located in the open countryside and offers a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere to the person who truly wishes to find the millenarian symbiosis that joins man with nature. Moreoever, the “Old Barn: is also the perfect point of departure to easily reach the artistic, historical, and natural places of Tuscany and neighboring regions, allowing excursions by car, motorcycle, and bicycle. We are in fact in the middle of a triangle where on each summit, you will find one of the three most famous cities for art: Florence, Siena, and Arezzo (check a map for exact distances). The three cities are all easily accessible via public transportation (train or bus) or private transportation. Additionally,the Chianti region with its characteristic villages and world renowned wine is very close by. The nearest village is Figline Valdarno. "

Means of access :
Exit the motorway A1 (E35) at INCISA, turn left direction Figline Valdarno, keep straight on to the RegionalRoad n. 69 (SR69) until you reach the beginning of the village of Figline Valdarno. At the intersection, where the Torricelli Hotel is located (on the right hand side of the road), turn right and follow the signs for Greve in Chianti. Follow the provincial road n. 16, after approximately 500 meters (and after having past the local cemetery) turn right to San Martino Altoreggi, the town where the Podere Tipertoli is situated (green arrow on the enclosed map). Keep driving on the municipal road for approximately 2,5 km. until you reach the intersection. Cross the road and proceed straight ahead on the road that, initially asphalted, becomes a country road slightly up the hill. Past the crossroad for Saint Martino (after approximately the 700 meters from the last intersection) the road becomes flat and, after few meters you will see the access to the private road that leads to the Tipertoli homestead. Please note—The closest airport is the Florence International Airport, approximately 60km from Figline Valdarno (all on the highway - approximately 50 minutes drive with regular traffic). Alternatively, the other international airport is the Airport Galileo Galilei of Pisa, approximately 120 km from Figline Valdarno (all highway - approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes drive with regular traffic).In the area:

"Absolutely quiet! Great view! Beautiful house! The reality won´t disappoint you compared to the pictures:) The host Gionata was very concerned about our well-being and came up with many good tips and tweaked for us. We are very pleased and if we will go to Toscany again we know were to stay! Perhaps the swings in the garden had seen better days if I have to complain about something, but the hammock was wonderful!"

"Nous avons passés un formidable séjour en famille, le site est merveilleux, l''accueil parfait, la maison est très confortable seule la température était un peu basse, nous y étions un peu tôt dans la saison, nous envisageons d''y revenir en 2014 à une période plus clémente. Nous avons pu passer une soirée auprès du feu avec une bonne grillade dans la cheminée, excellent souvenir ! Merci à Giani et son beau frère."

"Nous sommes venus en Famille avec trois enfants. Nous avons passé une semaine fantastique en Toscane. La maison est située en haut d''une colline et offre une vue fantastique. Le calme est absolu. L''intérieur est confortable, bien équipé et très propre. Le jardin est extrêmement bien entretenu et offre de nombreux endroits pour se prélasser. Les grands sites touristiques sont tous situés à proximité de voiture. En plus de tous ces points positifs, nous ne pouvons que souligner la gentillesse, disponibilité et conseils de nos hôtes. A recommander vivement."

"Nous sommes venus à ce gite pour passer une semaine entre amis, et découvrir la Toscane. Nous avons trouvé bien plus : le gite très bien situé nous a permis de visiter la région, mais aussi de partager des moments exceptionnels dans un environnement calme et enchanteur, sous le soleil. Le gite est très bien équipé, et très calme. Quel bonheur de se réveiller avec les chants des oiseaux comme seul bruit de fond! La gentillesse de nos hôtes, leurs conseils et témoignage sur la vie locale, a rendu ce séjour encore plus agréable. Les dossiers à disposition sont très complets : grâce aux coordonnées géodésiques, les GPS n''ont pas eu de mal à trouver les destinations. Un très grand bonheur!"
