SPORT AND LEISURE: WALKS AN HIKES There are walks for the whole family, from the casual stroller to the aspiring mountaineer over about 150 km of well laid out and clearly signposted paths. The area around Fieber-brunn is particularly suitable for walking, offering gentle yet varied walks and hikes in the spectacular setting of the mountains around Wildseeloder. As a small incentive we will reward you with the pin of the Wander-nadel in bronze, silver or gold. Information and collectingcards are available at the Tourist Office. UP AND AWAY IN COMFORT Cablecars Fieberbrunn: (Tel. 56333) 1st part: Streuböden 2.624 - 3.936 ft. 2nd part: Lärchfilzkogel 3.936 - 5.426 ft. Operating times: from 23th June until the 21nd October daily. During this time the first section will run even if it is raining. Hours: every 30 min. from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm (except 12h30 pm) Prices for one part: adults with guest card children Ascent € 5,- € 2,50 Descent € 3,- € 1,50 Prices for the first and the second part: adults with guest card children Ascent € 10,- € 5,- Descent € 6,- € 3,- Please mind: With your ascent ticket, descent is free of charge! Pick up some hiking-hints at the Tourist office (walking-maps, suggestions for trips in the area..)! SWIMMING Indoors or in the open air or take a mud bath in the Lauchsee lake. Fieberbrunn has a lot to offer to swimmers. Spend your free-time in the indoor- or outdoor pool, water slide (65 m), massage, steam-sauna, finnish-sauna, solarium, and much more. Perhaps you will be tempted by our wonderful calm lake. The lake remains at a pleasant temperature (on average 24° C) all summer due to it‘s sunny position and the mud it contains. There is a playground for children as well as a fenced-off swimming area. HORSERIDING AT THE „REITERHOF OBING“ OR THE „VORNBICHLHOF“ On Iceland ponies which are particularly suitable for children at the OBING Riding Stables, Lindau 7, Tel.: 56814. Or on „Haflinger“ horses at the VORNBICHL Riding Stables, Tel.: 56557. Please make an appointment! But don´t leave this treat to the children - adults too, whether beginners or advanced will enjoy seeing the countryside on horseback. Even those in a saddle for the first time will be able to cope with a legthy trek after a few practice hours. CHILDRENS ACTIVITIES Programme for children (End of May - October): Once a week: Adventure day, Water day, or an alternative in case of bad weather, trip to a farmhouse, soccer for boys, kindergarten, .... All with full supervision. EXCURSIONS The oldest dwarf-pine destillery in the world at St. Ulrich am Pillersee (8 km) Mon - Fri 8 am - 6 pm, Sat, Sun 09h30-12 am and 1-5 pm). Bathing possibilities May - Sept.. Garden of Alpine Flowers /Kitzbühel (24 km) More than 120 kinds of alpine flowers are prospering right under the top of the „Kitzbüheler Horn“. The garden can be reached by car or by cable-car. To be recommended in spring-time. Museum of Tyrolean Farmsteads at Kramsach (54 km) On an area of almost 20 acres you can enter into the life of farmers in the „Tyrol“ of the past, some houses even date from the 13th century. A whole village, including farmhouses, stables, baking ovens, a bathhouse, etc. with all their accessoiries typical tyrolean is explained to the visitors. Here you have the unique opportunity to see the glassblowers, engravers, cutters and painters while working. Exhibition-Mine at Leogang (15 km) Salzburg’s oldest mine of silver, kopper, lead ... can be visited with a guide. Open: May - end of October, daily 11 am - 5 pm, closed on Mondays. Here you can see for yourself just what it was like for the 11.000 miners who faced great physical hardship to extract silver and copper during the 15th and 16th century. Wildlife Park Aurach / Kitzbühel (28 km) Walk and relax within app. 200 different animals in their natural surrounding in a huge out-door enclosure. Cave „Lamprecht“ at Lofer (30 km) Between Weißbach and St. Martin close to Lofer you can find one of the largest system of water-caves in Europe. open daily, adults: Ravine „Seisenberg“ at Weißbach near Lofer (30 km) At the foot of the mountain ranges, Loferer and Leoganger Steinberge, nature has created raging waterfalls and bizarre rock formations. Open: May - end of October, Werfen - The largest ice-cave in the world (75 km) Situated in an altitude of 1.641 m, the „Eisriesenwelt“ is a very popular sight to visit in our area. The temperature troughout the year is app. 0 °, so warm clothing and sturdy shoes should be worn. The access to the cave is only permitted with a guide, the guided tour lasts app. 1 ½ hrs.
