Means of access Lesvos is easily reachable by ferry-boat or jet from Athens, not to mention charter flights from many European cities and also from USA, all the time. Most people who book their trip in Skala Eressos through arrange to gave a taxi transfer from Mytilini, the capital of Island Lesvos to Skala Eressos or to take the local bus. Skala Eressos is less than 1&1/2 hour away from Mytilini town - 85Km away.
There are two different roads in order to arrive in Skala Eressos. One is from Mitilini to kalloni and after via Parakila - Agra - Mesotopos - Skala Eressos, and the other from Mitilini to Kalloni and after via Skaloxori - Vatousa - Antisa - Eressos - Skala Eressos.

A few miles down the main road on the way to Sigri, near to Eressos, there is the unique Petrified Forest, a wonder of nature, which is the only one in Europe. It is estimated to be almost 20.000.000 years old. The forest is approximately a 350km2 area and some of its trees are several meters tall.
