" Deep in the heart of leafy Buchanan Castle Estate, Strathendrick House is a haven of peace and tranquillity. A vast garden, dominated by an enormous fir, and surrounded by mature trees and an orchard, ensure utter seclusion and privacy. This substantial 4 bedroom cottage situated in the grounds of Buchanan Castle has two log-burning stoves, and a state-of-the-art maple and granite kitchen. There are two en suites and a master bathroom with free-standing bath, two living rooms, dining room and playroom. There are substantial private gardens featuring an orchard, private access to stream, al fresco dining, trampolines and swings. Suitable for families, large groups, and also suitable for couples looking for a romantic and secluded break. The village of Drymen is charming. Local amenities include several fine pubs all serving traditional hot and cold food, a supermarket, a bank, a local butcher, a gallery and a souvenir shop and a well stocked library of books, CDs and DVDs. There are a variety of events including ceilidhs regular fairs and dances throughout the year. Ideally located for exploring the beauty of Loch Lomond. A huge variety of outdoor activities are on offer; golfers have the choice of many top class courses all within easy reach, including the championship course of Loch Lomond, as well as the Buchanan Castle course and the delightful 8 holes of Stathendrick, which are only minutes away. The Drymen and East Loch Lomond area is a veritable paradise for anglers of every level of experience. The waters of this area are the home to many different types of fish including: brown & rainbow trout, perch, pike, salmon and roach, whilst Loch Lomond, the largest freshwater loch in Scotland, offers a wide range of water sports, to suit all ages and abilities, including sailing, canoeing and waterskiing. For avid horse riders, stables are situated within the Buchanan Castle Estate itself. The village of Drymen itself is endlessly charming, with local amenities, several fine pubs and eateries, a leisure and sports complex open to the public, as well as a variety of events including ceilidhs, agricultural shows, and dances at Hogmanay. Directions to Drymen From Glasgow City Centre (22 miles) Follow signposts to Aberfoyle (A81) along Great Western Road until Anniesland Cross, turning right onto the Switchback. At Canniesburn Toll roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A809 (signposted Bearsden Cross & Drymen), continue through Bearsden Cross, after 1000m the A809 to Drymen branches to the right, go straight through the next roundabout, Drymen is signposted from then onwards. From Glasgow Airport (25 miles) Take the M8 towards Greenock, follow signposts for Erskine Bridge. After crossing the bridge take the A82 to Dumbarton & Loch Lomond. Close to reaching Loch Lomond follow the signs to Balloch, taking you onto the A811, continue through Balloch heading for Stirling & Drymen it is well signposted after this point. From Stirling (21 miles) Follow signposts for Loch Lomond and A811, remain on this road and after approximately 15 miles, Drymen is well signposted. From Edinburgh Airport & Rosyth Ferry Terminal (60 miles) On leaving Edinburgh, take the M9 towards Stirling, take exit 10 following the tourist route signs to Loch Lomond, this takes you onto the A811, remain on this road and after approximately 15 miles, Drymen is well signposted. Having arrived in the vicinity of Drymen: Please note that Strathendrick House is not actually in the village of Drymen but situated in Buchanan Castle Estate.
