Best points about the property:
" Beautifully restored, traditional stone cottage with all mod. cons. "An Bothán" is the Irish for "The Shed". An Bothán began its existance as the home of the O' Shea family, my mother-in-law's family in the late 1800s. When the faimly built a new house nearby in the 1950s the house was then used as a milking shed. Over the years the house had fallen into disrepair until 2002 when we began the project of restoring it to a habitable space once again. We hope that we have managed to marry old charm with new modern comforts. The cottage is fully equipped with all modern appliances. Outside there is a seating area and this is a real sun-trap when the sun is shining. Our closest beach is only a 5 minute stroll from the cottage, at Muiríoch. It is a long, sandy beach wonderful for walking, safe for swimming and ideal for building sand castles. This is only one of the many beaches in the area. At Ballydavid pier (approx. 10 min walk) there are two smaller beaches which are also very popular.
Our wish for you when you holiday in our cottage is that you will gain "suaimhneas" a gaelic word which means "peace, tranquility, quietness, relaxation". "

Hints and tips from the owner:
" In addition to beautiful beaches and scenery there is much of archaeological interest in the area - Gallarus oratory, Cill Mhaolchéadair. If an active holiday is what you're after why not climb Mount Brandon (3000 feet high), even if you don't make it to the top the scenery is amazing just a little distance up. Enjoy a picnic on the Blasket Islands. In Dingle town, just 8km away take time out to browse the many shops, cafés, restaurants and art galleries. Take a boat trip to see "Fungi" the Dingle Dolphin - no not a dolphin in captivity but the real thing in Dingle Bay. "
