Best points about the property:
" La Maison du Curé was built in 1823 and was, until recently, the house of the priest of Cormatin. It has been skilfully transformed into a cosy family cottage yet many of the original features have been retained.
Upstairs the cottage has three bedrooms, all with washbasins. Downstairs is the living room with TV with satellite channels. The dining room seats 6 and leads into a modern fully equipped kitchen. Through the back is a secluded terrace and garden. In the garage you can play table tennis. There are bikes so you can explore the neighbouring villages along the voie verte.
La Maison du Curé is just off the main street in Cormatin and it is a short walk to the two boulangeries, the butcher, grocer and tabac. A craft centre is housed in the old spinning mill by the river. Here you can buy local gourmet foods and admire the work of the many local artists and craftsmen.
Cormatin is especially renowned for its Louis XIII château with original decoration and fabulous gardens.
Many people find Cormatin the ideal base for visiting Taizé, the famous Christian centre, which is five minutes away by car. Young people attend from all over the world for teaching and prayer. The monks hold three services a day and all visitors are given a warm welcome. "
" There is a good selection of good eating places to choose from in Cormatin, including the Hôtel Les Blés d'Or, La Terrasse, several pavement cafés and Marco's homemade pizza shop. "
