" In the area there are many grocery stores, open on Sundays, some of them have brick oven stoves with production of typical sweets and “pani cunzatu” usually is bread with oil and cheese and/or anchovies, take away meals, vegetables and fruits locally produced, bars, bakeries, pharmacies, catholic Church, post office, pizzerias and any kind of stores. In town that are many restaurants with typical cuisine. Very characteristic is the turistic port where is relaxing to take a walk, eat in the various restaurants and have fun in the several nightclubs on the promenade. During the day fresh fish can be bought, rent a motor boat or reserve daily excursions with the motor boat that leave from the port of Castellamare reaching San Vito Lo Capo, during the sailing will stop at the beautiful Zingaro’s Reserve cove, through the Majestic “Faraglioni di Scopello” diving in the cristal waters. It is also suggested, to rent a car to go seightseeing to the near destinations: ancient SEGESTA (15 minutes) with the gorgeous temple and the greek amphitheater where during the summertime is possible to watch the classic rappresentations, the TERME with sulphurous water ( 5 minutes) ERICE ( 40 minutes) TRAPANI (30 minutes) the EGADI ISLANDS reacheable from TRAPANI, SELINUNTE (35 minutes) the RESERVE of the STAGNONE with the salt flats, windmills and the archipelago. For those who love speleology, there is the possibility for guided excursions to the beautiful “GROTTOS of MOUNTAIN INICI with stalactites and stalagmites. "
