These tourist approved spacious fully equipped holiday rental apartments, with a breath taking south facing sea view, are located in the sunny south west of Madeira, on the side of the valley overlooking the banana plantations and the village of Arco da Calheta. What you see is what you get!
Because of Madeira’s landscape it is very important to find the right location to spend your holiday, Casa Serena which lies at 222 metres ASL (above sea level); this means that it still enjoys a mild sub-tropical climate even in the winter months. You can imagine the higher you go the colder it gets. Some peeks on the island are more than 1800 metres ASL.In the summer months the apartments are high enough ASL to escape any sea mist and enjoy the full heat of the sun.
Casa Serena is only five minutes by car to the Vila da Calheta with its beautiful beach and marina; you will also find a hotel, shops, restaurants and large supermarket.
You can take a boat trip to see the dolphins and whales, or fish, swim, sail and enjoy the local cuisine.
Located close to some of the most beautiful lavada walks on the island, Casa Serena provides the perfect place to explore this wonderful island.
Local amenities only 70 metres up the road we have a view point where you can appreciate this perfect location, 100 metres there is a local coffee bar and 200 metres a well-stocked mini market where you can purchase local fresh bread in the morning and again at 4pm in the afternoon except on Sundays
There is a path which leads down to the local hotel, (a ten minute walk) open to non-residents.
You can also walk down to the centre of Arco da Calheta (fifteen minute walk) where you will find a post office, a well stocked fruit and vegetable store and a friendly café in the centre. If you walk up the hill from the centre of Arco at the junction you will find the local chemist and a variety of shops and coffee bars
