Best points The idyllic hamlet of Doccione is located in a quite remote are at 850 m s.l., at the end of the Valle Santa valley. The property is situated on the border of the Casentino National Park. The Casentino lies between the upper valley of the Arno and Tiber rivers and is a picturesque area rich with Roman and Etruscan churches and monastries. It is a green oasis on the edge of the Appenines, well known for its traditional trade such as iron, wood and stone work and the production of wool. In former times the “salt way” from Germany to Rome crossed this area.There are terraces, a large meadow for relaxing and playing and a sauna.
We offer bed and breakfast and half pension, on request vegetarian meals, mostly mediterranean meals with ingredients often gathered from our kitchen garden. Personal shopping can be done at the large supermarket and weekly market in Bibbiena (22 km).
In our sparsely populated area, you will have wonderful views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. While enjoying the nature and silence hiking or bikeriding you can discover the abundant flora and fauna. The surrounding forest is mainly oak, beech or chestnut, bondered with tilled and fallow fields. A wonderful large swimming hole in the local river is only 10 min. by car.
There are many activities to occupy the days … visiting the weekly markets in the local towns, tours of the panoramic sourroundings, medieval churches, castles and monasteries to explore. Day tours to the art centers of Arezzo (1 hr), Florence (2 h), Perugia (1,5 h), Orvieto (2 h) or to the Adreatic coast or the the independent state of San Marino.
Within the summer months there are many regional cultural events like food specialities, open air cinema, concerts, theater, expositions.

- or via Cesena on the superstrada E45, direction Rome, leave at Bagno di Romagna, pass the Mandrioli-pass to Badia Prataglia, just before Badia Prataglia turn sharply to the left to Corezzo, Rimbocchi, go on as above
