" Barcenaciones is a village with several important manors. Very calm and perfectly preserved. Santillana del Mar is 10 minutes distance like Altamira's Caves. There is multitude of very interesting villages around, Cabezón de la Sal, San Vicente of the Barquera, Bárcena Mayor, Carmona, etc. Perfect place to do excursions in bicycle or by foot. Important monuments in the zone: causeways and Roman remains, Romanesque and Gothic churches, caves as those of Altamira, The Castle, El Soplao, of great cultural and archaeological interest. Several golf courses exist in the surroundings, two of them are very nice . Pedreña's Golf, where Severiano Ballesteros learned is 30 minutes away. Cabárceno's Nature reserve is only 20 kms. Natural reserve Saja-Besaya "
