It was the original home of the McDonald family for generations. The Chestnut Cottage has been lovingly restored, keeping as much as possible of the 'Old World' character of the cottage while adding all the modern comforts. From Shannon Airport: Take N18 going south to Limerick. From Limerick take N7 through Nenagh. From Nenagh take N52 to Borrisokane, R438 to Taylors Cross and left in to Banagher. The wide bridge which crosses the River Shannon to County Galway opens the way to tour the west of Ireland. Banagher is famous for its Irish music pubs, its river cruises, Bog walks, great Fishing, (Pike fishing is particularly rewarding) Excellent super markets and shops, Restaurants, and Hotels.
