" The frazione of Cocciglia is popular with tourists who love trekking and kyaking. It also offers pony trekking as well as wine and food-lover itineraries specializing in traditional dishes bases on wild mushrooms, wild boar, chestnut flour, beans and farro. Bagni di Luca is an interesting destination especially for those itineraries associated with the English Romantic movement. Many illustrious writers such as Lord Byron, Eugenio Montale and Henry James stayed in the town; the English defined the town as "enchanted" and "dreamlike" whilst in Italy it was known as "the Switzerland of Tuscany".The town became the summer residence of Russians, French, Americans and many others. Still now interesting festivals and literary events are organized by the resident English community in association with the historic Bagni di Lucca Anglican Church.
