" Traditional,sunny country house,with ceiling beams and brick floors and with all modern conveniences, including fireplaces and central heating. Large terrace for outdoor meals. Large private swimming pool, 15mx5m, and 6 place jacuzzi. From every window wonderful panoramas of unspoilt nature, villages, forests, mountains. Surrounded by fenced farm animals (miniature goats, rabbits, chickens-fresh eggs available). Casabasciana(300 metres distant)is one of 23 villages of Bagni di Lucca. The main village of Bagni di Lucca (9 kms distant) has beautiful open air and winter swimming pools, tennis courts, theatre, library, restaurants, pizzerias, shops of all kinds, twice weekly market, pharmacy, doctors and dentists. It is also a thermal spa, with health and beauty treatments. At the Villa Demidoff, the Global Village offers alternative treatments, meditation, massage. In summer there are many country fairs, food,classical music,jazz festivals. In the winter the ski resorts of Abetone and Cimone are about an hour away. There are many ancient villages to explore locally, as well as trekking, mountain biking, fishing and, in season picking porcini mushroom. Exit the motorway, preferably at Lucca Est (Lucca Ovest is a little longer). Follow the signs for SS12 or SS Brennero or Abetone or Bagni di Lucca. You will go around the outside of the walls of Lucca, and once outside the town you will travel about 35 kms, passing the main town of Bagni di Lucca, until you see a signpost Fabbriche di Casabasciana. A few hundred metres further on you will see a sign on your right to Casabasciana. About 4 kms up this winding road is Casabasciana.
