" A well kept secret. Alentejo is a unique region of South-West Portugal. Enjoy plains, mountains, hills, rivers and, not the least, the sea and its many beaches and cliffs. This immense diversity is the main attraction of this unique region. The coast offers beautiful sandy beaches embedded in the cliffs. The best preserved coastline in Europe, roman ruins, prehistoric sites, moor architecture and beautiful white villages are some of the points of interest. Alentejo also means very welcoming people in a non touristic area. Longueira is located within the Nature Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina. Several access to the Rota Vicentina : a 340 km walking trail with two routes : the fishermen trail by the sea and the historical road. Almograve/Longueira offers kilometres of sandy beaches, many secluded. The village has coffe shops, restaurants, grocery stores, bars.
