More than just music As well as a strong tradition of music and dance, Geneva boasts many other attractions. Lake Léman is the largest lake in Europe and has always attracted visitors to its breathtaking beauty. If you cross the Mont-Blanc bridge you will find the famous flower clock in the Jardin Anglais, a reminder of the Swiss passion for watch-making. Outside of the former city ramparts you will find Place Neuve, the centre of culture in Geneva, which comprises of the Grand Theatre, the Conservatory of Music and the Rath Museum. In the centre of the square stands a statue of the national hero, Henri Dufour, who was the first to construct a map of Switzerland. And if you’re looking to explore the history of this great city then it’s well worth a visit to the Palais de Nations, constructed between 1929 and 1936 to house the League of Nations. In 1946 it became the headquarters of the United Nations.
