A blend of music and culture
This year, from the beginning of June until August, Lyon will be welcoming the « crème » of the music scene, from both
France and further afield.
The festival will take place in the
Roman amphitheatres of Fourvière and the programme will include theatre, dance, concerts and cinema.
Thousands of people travel to Lyon every year for the event.
It is also a great time to visit Lyon and the
Rhône region : as a
UNESCO world heritage site, Lyon has over 2000 years of history imprinted on its streets.
Originating as
Lugdunum under the Roman empire, it evolved into a centre of silk production and later a Haussman-style industrial city.
Lyon is also the
gastronomic capital of France, so take the time to try its notable sausages, poultry and other specialities.
