Every year the German city of Bremen hosts an annual music festival with a number of outstanding international artists and programmes which extend across different musical genres.

Bremen, a city of culture

This year the Bremen Music Festival will be celebrating its 20th birthday from 22nd August to 13th September. Brilliant orchestras, famous conductors and star soloists travel from all over to give live performances in selected venues. Guest performers include The Akademie fur Alte Musik Berlin & Cappella Amsterdam, Anne Sofie von Otter & Concerto Copenhagen, the Bach Collegium Japan, and the Gesualdo Consort Amsterdam, amongst many others. It’s also a great opportunity to discover Bremen’s rich culture: the Bremen Theatre and Shakespeare Company, Bremen Kunsthalle art gallery, New Weserberg Museum, the imposing cathedral, the exceptional structures in historic Böttcherstrasse and the Bremen Town Musicians sculpture that defines the Grimm Brothers’ famous fairy tale...
